Can't stop with the socks

One of these days I will make a pair of socks that have a pattern, but for now, these will have to do. I made these with Trekking and size 2 needles.

5-hour baby sweater

My sister is expecting a girl this fall, so I thought I'd try my hand at a sweater for my new niece. I used the five hour baby sweater from http://yarntootin.typepad.com/. The yarn is Knitpicks Swish in Wisteria. Not my first choice of yarn, but I had trouble finding a bulkier superwash wool at my LYS. It's a cute little sweater (are babies really that small??). It was a great pattern to use, but it did take me quite a bit longer than five hours though. I should have timed it, but I'm guessing it was about 8-9 hours.

More socks

This was actually my third pair of socks that I've made. The second pair went to my mom for Mother's Day and I didn't take any pictures or them (not that they would have looked much different). I lost the band for the yarn I used on these socks, but I think it was Lang Jawoll. I got it on clearance at the yarn store. I just love the way the pattern turned out, as well as the orange and brown colors.

Socks

I took a sock class at my LYS and loved it. These socks aren't overly complicated, but they are so comfortable to wear. The yarn is Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Bitterroot Rainbow. I'm amazed they turned out so well, considering I'd only knit two scarves prior to taking the class. I learned a lot of new skills in the class (picking up stitches, knitting in the round, etc.). Love these!

Greetings!

Welcome to my blog! I am a beginning knitter and I hope to capture some of my progress here.
Oh, yes, and my cattledog will probably be featured prominently. Luck is on her side since dog knitting isn't going to be a high priority for me.
